I am ready to put the polyurethane coats on my latest big project. This is an 11′ X 14′ floorcloth of the Carwitham 6 pattern. This is one of John Carwitham’s designs from 1739. It is done in Benjamin Moore colors of Black, Kingsport Gray, Putnam Ivory and Cottage Red and has Greenbrier Beige marbling on the Ivory and Black areas to add dimension and an aged look.
This was an interesting pattern to lay out, and it was made more challenging because it has a seam in the canvas, which needed to be hidden along one of the pattern’s lines.
There are also three small coordinating floorcloths going with this order. All will be displayed at a decorator’s Open House in May in Connecticut.
