Rufus Porter Landscape Floorcloth Class
Rufus Porter Museum Floorcloth Class
Come to the Rufus Porter Museum in Bridgton, Maine on July 24th and 25th, 2013 to take this two day class where you’ll learn how to paint a 2′ X 3′ floorcloth. Lisa Curry Mair will conduct the class and demonstrate the entire process, leading you step by step to a beautiful finished piece. (Click on the picture to see the whole piece.)
Class fee is $90. Materials fee is $100. You’ll get a prepared blank floorcloth, all the brushes and stencils needed for the project and all the paints you need to complete the beautiful Willow Tree and Vine floorcloth.
When you sign up by paying here, your registration will be sent to the museum for you.
The Rufus Porter Museum was founded in 2005 to celebrate the life of Rufus Porter (1792-1884), a painter, inventor, musician, and writer. The museum began by preserving and exhibiting Rufus Porter Style wall murals, and since has expanded to encompass Porter’s other accomplishments, and to promote the preservation of early 19th Century Maine and New England culture for future generations. We invite you to share in Porter’s uniquely American blend of creativity, ingenuity, practicality, and energy by coming to explore Rufus Porter’s era through the museum.
The Rufus Porter Museum will be holding its 7th Annual Cultural Heritage Series Monday July 22nd – Saturday July 27th.
The series follows their mission statement to increase the enjoyment, knowledge, and pride of our communities by bringing to life the world and inspiring works of Rufus Porter — a remarkable American artists and inventor.

Private Consultations
You can sign up for a Private Consultation with Lisa. Bring your questions or ask ahead of time to have a session covering a certain painting technique, design queries, marketing basics, etc. You can have a 1 or 2 hour session at $75/ hr. You must sign up at least 2 weeks in advance and there will be some dates and times that will not be available. After you pay the Consultation Fee, Lisa will contact you and together we can set up a time. If you have a friend (or friends) who would like to do this with you, I will take a maximum of 4 people at a time. Each pays the $75/hr. fee.
